Malpensa → Viareggio — 210 minutes
Viareggio is the Tuscan coast's Belle Époque seafront town, known for the Liberty-style villas and cafés along the Passeggiata and for a Carnival that has run its own tradition of giant papier-mâché floats since the 1870s. Outside Carnival season it's a beach town with private bathing clubs lining the shore, popular with Italian and international families who treat it as the coastal counterpart to a Tuscan hill-town holiday.

The drive from Malpensa is about 330 km and takes roughly 3.5 hours. The route follows the A1 motorway south toward Florence, crossing the Apennines, then continues on the A11 west toward the coast, exiting at Viareggio directly rather than at Lucca or Pisa. Traffic through the Apennine tunnels is the main variable, particularly on summer weekends when coastal traffic builds; we plan for it rather than quote an optimistic best-case time.
Meet and greet happens at arrivals with a name board, and your flight is tracked so a delay doesn't cost the pickup slot. Sixty minutes of free waiting is included. Beach gear and extra luggage from a longer coastal stay fit without a supplement in the right vehicle class. Water, Wi-Fi, and English/Italian/Russian-speaking drivers are standard.
Couples and solo travellers fit comfortably in the E-Class for the 3.5-hour drive. Families take the V-Class, which also handles beach equipment and extra bags. The S-Class and Sprinter are available on request for premium or larger-group bookings. All prices are fixed per vehicle at booking.
Book through the form on this page or via WhatsApp; payment is settled after the trip.
Malpensa splits arrivals between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 by airline, and your driver confirms which one applies before heading to the arrivals hall. Child seats are available on request at no extra charge — specify ages when booking. Outside the summer months, Viareggio slows down considerably and the seafront cafés and bathing clubs run reduced hours, which some guests prefer for a quieter coastal stop rather than the crowded July and August weekends most transfer bookings cluster around. The return to Malpensa is priced the same as the arrival, and on summer weekends when coastal traffic is heaviest, we recommend confirming the pickup time a day or two ahead rather than the morning of departure. Payment for either direction is settled by card or cash after the drive, with the driver's details confirmed in writing before you travel.
For reference, the E-Class trunk takes two large suitcases and two carry-ons without trouble, and we size the V-Class up from there once a booking mentions extra passengers or equipment. Changes to the plan — a moved flight, one more traveller, additional bags — are simplest to handle over WhatsApp ahead of the pickup rather than as a surprise on the day. Off-season, the same drive is noticeably quieter, which some guests prefer.
Viareggio sits a short drive from Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta along the same stretch of Versilia coast, both of which we also serve directly for guests comparing bases before booking.
