Malpensa is 50 km from central Milan. Most passengers arriving here need to get to a hotel near the Duomo, a venue at Rho Fiera, a business address in Porta Nuova, or simply home. The airport is well-connected by rail — the Malpensa Express runs into Cadorna or Garibaldi — but it dumps you at a station, not at your door. Add luggage, jet lag, and peak-hour crowds, and a train ride that looks quick on paper rarely is.

The route
The drive follows the A8/A9 motorway corridor southwest from Malpensa into the city. Traffic is predictable outside rush hours; during morning and evening peaks, the driver adjusts the route. In clear conditions you reach the ring road in under 30 minutes, then it's a short run to wherever you need to be — Duomo, Navigli, Brera, CityLife, or the fairgrounds at Rho Fiera.
