About the route

Malpensa → Tignes270 minutes

Tignes shares the Espace Killy ski area with Val d'Isère and adds something the neighbour doesn't have: skiing on the Grande Motte glacier, open most of the year, which is why the resort attracts summer training camps as well as winter tourists. The village itself is split across several settlements at different altitudes — Tignes-le-Lac, Val Claret, Tignes 1800 — and telling a driver which one you mean matters more here than at most French resorts.

Malpensa → Tignes

Tignes shares the Espace Killy ski area with Val d'Isère and adds something the neighbour doesn't have: skiing on the Grande Motte glacier, open most of the year, which is why the resort attracts summer training camps as well as winter tourists. The village itself is split across several settlements at different altitudes — Tignes-le-Lac, Val Claret, Tignes 1800 — and telling a driver which one you mean matters more here than at most French resorts.

The drive from Malpensa covers about 370 km, roughly 4.5 hours, making it the longest of our regular Alpine transfers alongside Val d'Isère. The route follows the Aosta Valley to Courmayeur, through the Mont Blanc Tunnel, then north via Chamonix and Albertville into the Tarentaise valley, climbing through Bourg-Saint-Maurice to the Tignes plateau. The final stretch gains altitude quickly, and winter tyres and chains are standard equipment on our vehicles for that section rather than something fitted only when conditions look bad on the day.

Your driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign and tracks the flight, with 60 minutes of free waiting built in. Skis, boards, and boot bags travel at no extra cost, and we confirm exactly which of the Tignes settlements you're headed to before dispatch, so the vehicle doesn't end up circling between them. Water, Wi-Fi, and English/Italian/Russian-speaking drivers are standard.

The E-Class suits couples with a single set of ski gear. Families and groups of up to seven take the V-Class, the practical choice given how much equipment a week on the glacier tends to generate. S-Class is available on request, and the Sprinter handles larger groups on the same booking. Every fare is fixed per vehicle at the time of booking, confirmed before you fly.

Book via the form on this page or WhatsApp; payment is settled after the transfer, not before.

Malpensa splits arrivals between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 by airline, and your driver confirms which one applies before heading to the arrivals hall — worth knowing since a mix-up between the two costs a shuttle ride you don't want after a long flight. Child seats are available on request at no extra charge; tell us the ages at booking. The return transfer to Malpensa runs at the same fixed price, and given the 4.5-hour drive back down through the Tarentaise, we plan the pickup around an international departure with real margin rather than a tight connection. Confirm which Tignes settlement you're leaving from at the same time you book the return, since the driver needs the exact address rather than just the resort name. Payment for the return, as with the arrival, is by card or cash after the drive.

Luggage capacity is worth checking at booking: the E-Class trunk takes two large suitcases and two carry-ons, which covers most airport transfers without needing to upgrade. If your plans change afterward — an earlier flight, an extra passenger, more bags than expected — a message on WhatsApp is enough for us to adjust the vehicle before the day of travel, not at the pickup itself.

Given the distance, some clients break the drive with a stop in Chamonix, and we run a direct route to Val d'Isère as well for guests splitting time between the two resorts on the same lift pass.
