About the route

Malpensa → Palmanova outlet210 minutes

Palmanova Outlet sits next to one of the more unusual towns in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: a star-shaped Renaissance fortress town built by the Venetian Republic in the 1590s, laid out as a nine-pointed star with three concentric rings of streets, listed by UNESCO as part of the Venetian defensive works alongside Bergamo and Peschiera del Garda. Most guests booking this route are combining the outlet with a look at the fortress itself, or using it as a stop on a wider trip east toward Venice or Trieste.

Malpensa → Palmanova outlet

Palmanova Outlet sits next to one of the more unusual towns in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: a star-shaped Renaissance fortress town built by the Venetian Republic in the 1590s, laid out as a nine-pointed star with three concentric rings of streets, listed by UNESCO as part of the Venetian defensive works alongside Bergamo and Peschiera del Garda. Most guests booking this route are combining the outlet with a look at the fortress itself, or using it as a stop on a wider trip east toward Venice or Trieste.

The drive from Malpensa is one of the longer ones in our network: about 310 km, roughly 3.5 hours. The route runs east on the A4 motorway the entire way, passing Bergamo, Brescia, Verona, and Venice before reaching the Palmanova exit in Friuli. It's a long but predictable autostrada run rather than a route with mountain passes or tunnels, and the main variable is traffic density around Venice's mainland approaches, which we account for in the departure time.

Meet and greet happens at arrivals with a name board, your flight is tracked, and 60 minutes of free waiting is included. Shopping bags and luggage from a wider trip east fit without a supplement in the right vehicle class. Water, Wi-Fi, and English/Italian/Russian-speaking drivers are standard.

The E-Class suits couples or solo travellers for this longer drive. Families and small groups take the V-Class, and larger parties can request the Sprinter. All prices are fixed per vehicle at booking, regardless of the distance involved.

Book through the form on this page or via WhatsApp; payment is settled after the trip.

Malpensa splits arrivals between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 by airline, and your driver confirms which one applies before heading to the arrivals hall. Child seats are available on request at no extra charge — specify ages when booking. Because the fortress town itself takes no more than an hour or two to see properly — the star shape is best appreciated from the central piazza and the surviving ramparts — most guests treat Palmanova as a brief stop bolted onto the outlet visit rather than a full day's destination on its own. Given the distance, we recommend booking the return to Malpensa as early as possible once your departure flight is confirmed, since a 3.5-hour drive back leaves little room for a late change of plan. The return fare matches the arrival price and is settled by card or cash after the trip, with the driver's details confirmed in writing beforehand.

It's worth flagging luggage in advance: the E-Class trunk takes two large suitcases and two carry-ons without a squeeze, and the V-Class has room to spare beyond that. Plans shift after booking more often than guests expect — an earlier flight, one more passenger, extra bags picked up along the way — and a WhatsApp message ahead of the pickup date is all it takes for us to swap the vehicle assigned.

Palmanova sits within reach of Venice for guests combining the outlet with a city stop, and of Verona further west for anyone splitting the long drive across two stops.
