Malpensa → Merano — 180 minutes
Merano built its reputation as a spa town in the 19th century, when Empress Elisabeth of Austria — Sissi — spent time here for her health, and the thermal baths and long riverside promenades still define the town today. It's also known for a Christmas market that runs alongside Bolzano's as one of the region's most visited, and for a mild microclimate that keeps palm trees growing at the edge of the Alps. None of that changes the practical fact that it's a two-and-a-half to three-hour drive from the nearest major airport, which is Malpensa.

The drive covers about 280 km and takes roughly 3 hours. The route runs east on the A4 past Verona, then north on the A22 Brenner autostrada, exiting at Bolzano Sud and following the SS38 the short remaining distance into Merano. It's a more direct run than most of our South Tyrol transfers, since Merano sits close to the autostrada exit rather than deep in a side valley.
Your driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign and tracks the flight, and 60 minutes of waiting time is included at no charge. Luggage for a spa stay or a longer South Tyrol trip fits without a supplement in the right vehicle class. Water, Wi-Fi, and English/Italian/Russian-speaking drivers are standard across the fleet.
The E-Class suits couples or solo travellers for the three-hour drive. Families and small groups take the V-Class, and the S-Class is available on request for those who want the quietest possible ride. The Sprinter handles larger parties. All fares are fixed per vehicle at booking, confirmed before departure.
Reserve through the form on this page or via WhatsApp; payment is due after the transfer.
Malpensa splits arrivals between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 by airline, and your driver confirms which one applies before heading to the arrivals hall. Child seats are available on request at no extra charge — specify ages when booking. The mild climate that keeps palm trees growing along Merano's promenades also means the town works as a year-round destination rather than a strictly winter or summer stop, which is part of why guests book transfers here across all seasons rather than clustering around the Christmas market period alone. The return journey to Malpensa is fixed at the same rate as the arrival, and since the route runs directly on the autostrada without a mountain pass, it's one of the more predictable South Tyrol transfers to schedule tightly around a flight time. Payment is settled by card or cash after the drive, and confirmation with the driver's details is sent before you travel in either direction.
Luggage capacity is worth checking at booking: the E-Class trunk takes two large suitcases and two carry-ons, which covers most airport transfers without needing to upgrade. If your plans change afterward — an earlier flight, an extra passenger, more bags than expected — a message on WhatsApp is enough for us to adjust the vehicle before the day of travel, not at the pickup itself.
Merano is a short run from Bolzano, the region's capital, and within reach of Anterselva for anyone extending a South Tyrol itinerary further into the mountains.
