We've been running this route since 2013. It crosses the Italian–Swiss border, which means you travel with your passport or EU ID card. The crossing is straightforward — most clients pass in under five minutes — but it's worth knowing before you go.
Route and journey time
The drive is approximately 55 km. Under normal traffic it takes around 45 minutes. The route runs south from the airport through the Lombardy plain — past Varese, through the border at Ponte Tresa or Stabio depending on conditions — and into Mendrisio in the southernmost tip of Switzerland.
There are no mountain passes on this route, so it runs cleanly year-round. If you're travelling in peak summer or during major sales events at FoxTown, allow a little extra time at the border.
What's included
Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board. We track your flight in real time, so if you land late, your driver waits — up to 60 minutes at no extra charge. The vehicle has complimentary water and Wi-Fi. All our drivers speak English, Italian and Russian, and know the route to FoxTown well enough to answer questions about the outlet itself.
For groups travelling with multiple shopping bags or luggage, the boot space is arranged before departure. Tell us your luggage count when you book.
We also run the return leg. You set the pick-up time from FoxTown and we bring you back to Malpensa, with enough buffer to make your flight comfortably.
Vehicles and rates
We have five vehicle classes for this route. An E-Class sedan suits a couple or solo traveller with light luggage. A V-Class minivan is the better choice for families or anyone arriving with serious shopping intentions — more boot space, more comfort on the return when bags multiply. The S-Class is available for those who prefer a quieter, more refined ride. For larger groups, we have a Sprinter and a full-size Bus.
Pricing is fixed per route — no meters, no surge pricing, no commission to an agency. The exact fare is calculated based on your vehicle class and group size. To get a transfer to Serravalle Outlet or continue to Lugano on the same trip, let us know at booking and we'll adjust the itinerary.
